2008 Bricco del Cucu Langhe Dolcetto
PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL.
Bricco del Cucu Langhe Dolcetto is a red wine gem from Piedmont made from the Dolcetto grape, "little sweet one," named for its naturally low acidity. But Dolcetto can be anything but little or sweet, as this wine proves! While this wine may not be the prototype of Dolcetto, it is a beautiful red of 100% Dolcetto from estate vineyards in the Dogliani region. Dario Sciolla and his family cultivate 10 hectares of vineyards at the edge of the Langhe hills, where vineyards give way to grasslands and hazelnut groves. This winery's specialty is the Dolcetto grape.
Bricco del Cucu Langhe Dolcetto is brilliant red-violet in color with a nose and flavors of cherries, red berries, anise, almond and mineral notes. Aged in stainless steel tanks, it is fruit-forward with firm tannins and the structure to evolve over the next 6-8 years. The finish is long and rich.
Enjoy Bricco del Cucu Langhe Dolcetto with skewered beef, grilled chicken and vegetables, pasta and aged cheeses.
