2017 Chateau Chatelier Bordeaux Blanc

Product Description
Bordeaux, France
Chateau Chatelier Bordeaux Blanc is a beautiful white blend of 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. A refuge for monks in the 16th century, Château Chatelier vines have been in the Houbaer family since 1890. Current owner Jean-Michel Chatelier is the great-grandson on the maternal side of the family. On the steep slopes overlooking the Dordogne River, the vineyard of Château Chatelier faces south-south-east, towards the medieval town of Saint-Emilion. The slopes and sandy soils provide good drainage and keep the soil from compacting. A good, sunny exposure and the beneficial influence of the Dordogne River ensure that the grapes ripen evenly.
Chateau Chatelier Bordeaux Blanc is aged on its fine lees until March, then bottled in late March/early April. It is medium in body with bright acidity and notes of fresh citrus, melon and green apples. Crisp and clean on the finish.
Chateau Chatelier Bordeaux Blanc pairs perfectly with grilled snapper, roast chicken, summer salads and mild cheeses.
