Chateau de Fieuzal Pessac-Leognan is a classic red wine gem from the beautiful 2008 vintage in Bordeaux. Owned since 2001 by the family of Lochlann Quinn, the Fieuzal estate covers 75 hectares of vines, including 10 hectares planted to white varietals. Red vines planted are 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. The world’s leading wine critics all love this wine, and so do we! Robert Parker scored the wine 92 points, calling it “a big time sleeper of the vintage and a terrific success.” Wine Spectator and Tanzer both rated it 90 points.
Chateau de Fieuzal Pessac-Leognan is bright ruby red in color with aromas of blackberry, plum, spice cake, graphite and tobacco. Medium-full in body with excellent structure and silky tannins, this Bordeaux offers rich flavors of plums, blackberries, cassis and spice. It is beautifully balanced to be enjoyed now and over the next 12-15 years. The wine is long and smooth on the finish.
Enjoy Chateau de Fieuzal Pessac-Leognan with roast duck, grilled steak, ratatouille, and aged cheeses.
