Bordeaux, France

Chateau Vieux Meyney Bordeaux is a great everyday red wine gem from the most famous appellation in France. Chateau Vieux Meyney has been owned by the de Taffin family since the 1920s. Its 8 hectares of vineyards are located on a plateau and hillside in the town of Villegouge, close to the Dordogne River, just north of Fronsac, on the right bank of Bordeaux. This is a region where the Merlot grape thrives in clay-sand soils. Its location and sloping terrain ensure the optimal ripening of the fruit. Chateau Vieux Meyney is aged in stainless steel tanks to allow it to mature rapidly for early drinking and enjoyment of the soft Merlot fruit and its enticing aromas. This vintage is a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Chateau Vieux Meyney Bordeaux is dark ruby red in color with ripe, spicy, dark cherry aromas. Medium-full in body with moderate acidity and soft tannins, this Bordeaux offers rich flavors of plums, blackberries, cherries and spice. It is nicely balanced to be enjoyed now and over the next 4-5 years. The wine is long and smooth on the finish.

Chateau Vieux Meyney Bordeaux pairs perfectly with grilled and roast meats, burgers, and meat pastas.
