Domaine du Petit Metris Savennieres Clos de la Marche is a white wine gem from the Loire Valley of France made of 100% Chenin Blanc. Clos de la Marche is the name of the vineyard in the Savennieres appellation of the Loire wine region. It is a beautiful example of the appellation and an ideal wine to enjoy with food, showing nice minerality and restrained fruit. Petit Metris has been in the Renou family since 1784 and is now managed by sixth-generation Pascal and Herve Renou. Their vineyards cover 30 hectares in the appellations of Savennieres, Chaume and Quarts de Chaume. This wine received a 90-point rating from Wine Spectator.
Petit Metris Savennieres Clos de la Marche is a pale yellow-green in color with bright acidity. It is medium in body with an aromatic nose of pear, asparagus, almond and mineral notes. It offers a lush texture with clean flavors of green apples, pears, cardamom and marzipan. The wine was aged on its lees for 8 months, 50% in stainless steel tanks and 50% in oak barrels. It is clean and refreshing with good length on the finish.
Enjoy Petit Metris Savennieres Clos de la Marche over the next 3-4 years with roast chicken, grilled sole with a creamy morel sauce, crab salad and goat cheese.
