Marlborough, New Zealand
James Suckling 88 points!
Glazebrook Sauvignon Blanc is a beautiful expression of this grape from the highly regarded Marlborough appellation of New Zealand. The Glazebrook range of wines is made in the Ngatarawa locality west of Hastings in the Hawke's Bay. The wines are produced from premium grapes grown on the Hawke's Bay estate as well as selected sources in Marlborough and Gisborne. This white wine gem is made from 100% Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. At the northeastern tip of the South Island of New Zealand, Marlborough enjoys a temperate climate with high sunshine hours, moderate day temperatures and cool nights. The region is ideally suited to producing aromatic wines showing strong intensity of grape variety. The winery was founded in 1981 by the Glazebrook family and then purchased in 1999 by cousins Alwyn and Brian Corban.
Glazebrook Sauvignon Blanc is pale straw-yellow in color with touches of green. It shows intense passion fruit and mango aromas, backed by classic herbal notes of boxwood, nettle and ripe capsicum. It has a lively palate of tropical fruit with crisp lime acidity and lingering passion fruit. It is crisp and clean on the long finish.
Enjoy Glazebrook Sauvignon Blanc over the next 3-4 years with salmon, oysters, grilled vegetables, halibut, crab, chicken, Asian cuisine, and sushi.
