Product Description

Russian River Valley, California

Wine Spectator 89 points! Vinous 90 points! (on the 2016 vintage)

Holdredge Pinot Noir is a beautiful wine gem of Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley of Sonoma. Holdredge is a true Mom and Pop winery; all of the work is done by either John or Carri Holdredge. They have no employees, and their winery is in an old red barn that has housed wineries off and on since prohibition. John and Carri operate under two main beliefs: first, wine is made in the vineyard, not in the cellar, and second, that wine is better able to express the place where it is actually from when there is minimal intervention. Holdredge wines are elegant, balanced and nuanced, reflecting the individual vineyard’s “voice” as John likes to call it. We enjoyed a memorable visit with them in September 2012 and loved both the two of them and their wines!

“Plush, showing refined spiciness to the fresh-crushed red fruit and wild berry flavors. Creamy midpalate, with a juicy finish. Drink now through 2021. 1,020 cases made.”–KM, Wine Spectator, 89 points! (on the 2016 vintage)

“A classy, restrained wine that shows the more finessed side of the appellation... I very much like the precision and persistence here, especially within the context of an appellation-level wine." 90 points -Antonio Galloni, Vinous (on the 2016 vintage)

Holdredge Pinot Noir is bright garnet red with a beautiful nose of red berries, spices and floral notes. It is an elegant Pinot with medium body, fresh acidity and impeccable balance, featuring flavors of black cherry, raspberry, mocha and black tea. The wine is long and pleasing on the finish.

Enjoy Holdredge Pinot Noir with roast pork, grilled salmon, veal Milanese and aged cheeses.
