Coteaux d’Aix en Provence, France
La Source de Vignelaure Rosé is a delightful rosé from Provence. The first vintage of the flagship red wine Chateau Vignelaure was made in 1970, building the reputation of the domain. In 1993, Chateau Vignelaure produced its first rose, La Source de Vignelaure, named after the natural spring in the gardens of the Chateau. Provence is a climate of extremes and the heat and dryness of the summer has meant for centuries there was a real dependence on having a natural spring to help during the summer months. La Source de Vignelaure rosé is made in a distinctive style, floral and light with notes of summer fruits, and a softness that makes it appealing to those who are looking for the flavors of Provence. Made from a selection of grapes traditionally grown in Provence: 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Cinsault and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, it has distinguished itself by its awards, reviews and medals.
La Source de Vignelaure Rosé is soft cranberry-red in color with a gorgeous nose of raspberry, bing cherry, wild strawberry and spicy minerality. It is beautifully crisp and flavorful on the palate with light-medium body and notes of red berries, bing cherries, spice and no oak. The finish is long and refreshing.
Enjoy La Source de Vignelaure Rosé now and over the next 2-3 years as the perfect patio aperitif wine. It matches up beautifully with salade Nicoise, roast chicken, grilled shrimp and mild cheeses.
