2005 Old Faithful Grenache Northern Exposure
McLaren Vale, Australia
The Old Faithful "Northern Exposure" Grenache is a gorgeous Aussie red from a dry-grown vineyard planted in the 1940's on Terra Rossa soil. McLaren Vale is home to some of the most treasured old-vine plantings in the world—some dating back to 1862--referred to as “The Old Faithful.” A joint venture led by John Larchet includes Nick Haselgrove, Warren Randall, Warren Ward and Andrew Fletcher, united in their intent to produce small quantities of truly distinctive wines. This wine has been specially selected for The Australian Premium Wine Collection, recognized as one of Australia’s finest wines. This wine received impressive ratings of 90 points from Parker, Tanzer and Wine Spectator and 92 points from Wine & Spirits. We consider it a true wine gem!
The Old Faithful "Northern Exposure" Grenache is deep ruby-purple in color, lush and dense on the palate with a silky texture. Rich and full-bodied, it tantalizes the palate with aromas of cherry and raspberry and flavors of red berries, kirsch and smoky oak. The wine is long and persistent on the finish.
Enjoy The Old Faithful "Northern Exposure" Grenache with rack of lamb, grilled flank steak, BBQ ribs, grilled vegetables and cheeses.
