Schuchmann Pirosmani is a fine introduction to the rich heritage of wines from the Republic of Georgia. Dr. George Dakishvili is a third-generation winemaker. He followed in the footsteps of his father, who taught him the basics. Dr. George Dakishvili has international experience and studied winemaking at university in Georgia. He is considered the best Georgian winemaker. Schuchmann Wines make clean fresh Georgian wines that seek to showcase varietal purity. They work primarily with indigenous varietals such as Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, Kisi, and Saperavi.

Schuchmann Pirosmani is made 100% of the native Georgian grape Saperavi grown in the Kakheti region. The name Pirosmani denotes a a fruit forward style of making Saperavi, which is named after the famous Georgian Painter Niko Pirosmanishvili. This dry red wine is deep red in color with a complex and rich nose of blackberry, prune, cinnamon, black pepper and dried fig. A juicy and fruit forward version of Saperavi with notes of fresh cherry, pomegranate and plum balanced with acidity and soft tannins. A pleasant easy-drinking version of Saperavi with good structure perfect for a wide range of foods.
