Fulvia Tombolini Verdicchio dei Castelli dei Jesi Classico Superiore is a white wine gem from the Marche region of central Italy. For 100 years the Tombolini family has represented the winemaking tradition of an entire region: with a great past and a keen eye towards the future. 

“We’re among the founders of two of the most important DOCs of the Marche region: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Rosso Conero. Our history is one of quality and innovation: we were among the first to promote the Castelli di Jesi terroir, to use the iconic amphora shaped bottle (1950s), to make wine from 100% Verdicchio grapes in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats (1970s). Today we produce wine exclusively from our vineyards in harmony with the environment, our craftsmanship matched by the most advanced winemaking techniques.”—Fulvia Tombolini 

Amongst our oldest and historical vineyards there is a “secret” plot of land, which generates this Verdicchio Superiore. Ample temperature variations before the vintage and a constant ventilation from the wind blowing from the Adriatic sea, reaching our vineyards at 400 m a.s.l., triggers the expression of unique aromas and preserving the natural crispness of this Verdicchio Superiore. It is aged in steel, sur-lies, for about 6 months and in bottle for an additional 2 months. Straw yellow with light golden reflections. The clean aroma is intense and hints at white flowers, herbs, yellow apples and orchard fruits. Full-bodied and well balanced with a long, refreshing finish.
