Ragtag Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

El Pomar District, Paso Robles, California 

Ragtag Wine Co is a winery that focuses on handmade, thoughtful, small batch and single-vineyard wines. This is a single vineyard Cabernet from Dos Robles Vineyard in the El Pomar District of Paso Robles. The vines were planted in 1994 and are really in their prime at 25 years of age. The vines are planted on a steep hillside with slopes up to a 30% grade. 

A very small production of just 10 barrels (250 cases) was made. Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, black currant, and sangria resonate with roasted walnuts and mulling spices. The wine aged for 17 months in 40% new French and American oak, with the remainder in neutral barrels. This is big, powerful, inky Paso Robles Cabernet with great structure and length on the palate.
