Baciami Albana Romagna is a delightful sweet white wine from the Romagna region of Italy. Le Rocche Malatestiane is a wine cooperative that was partially formed by two existing wineries joining forces in 1994. The co-op is named after the Malatesti family who played an important role in Rimini history. The expertise of 12 hundred members, as well as well tended 2,200 acres of vineyards, makes this co-operative the excellent winery it is today.
In Italian, "Baciami" means "Kiss me" and what could be more appropriate than the "kiss" of this sweet little wine, a wine that has quite a history. According to the story, when the Roman Princess Galla Placida first tasted this in AD 382, she declared that this wine was so smooth it "should be drunk in gold." But that was then. Today, Albana di Romagna is one of precious few wines to be awarded DOCG status by Italian wine authorities. So we'd say: if you don't have a gold cup to drink it in, don't worry - a simple wine glass will do just as well!
The perfect match to the same winery's Adesso Cagnina sweet red, Baciami is a sweet white with pleasing ripe fruit, aromas and flavors. It is long and silky smooth on the finish and easy to love with only 10% alcohol!
Enjoy Baciami Albana Romagna with pasta, chicken cutlet, mild cheeses, fruit or dessert.
