Loire, France
Bailly Sancerre Terroirs is a white wine gem from the Loire Valley of France made of 100% Sauvignon Blanc. It is a beautiful example of the appellation, showing minerality and restrained fruit, making it an ideal food-friendly white wine. The Bailly family have been winemakers in Sancerre from father to son since 1700. The estate of Domaine Sylvain Bailly covers 12 hectares spread over 23 separate parcels. The vineyards are located mostly around the village of Bué, with holdings in the famous vineyards of Chêne Marchand, Grand Chemarin, le Château and les Chasseignes.
Bailly Sancerre Terroirs is a pale yellow in color with crisp acidity. Medium in body, it is pure and elegant with floral notes and freshness framed with citrus and stone. Dry with no tannins and no oak, it offers clean flavors of grapefruit, lime, honey, spice, minerals and herbal notes. The wine was aged on its lees for greater fullness. It is clean and refreshing with good length on the finish.
Enjoy Bailly Sancerre Terroirs over the next 3-4 years with grilled salmon, fried oysters, sushi, chicken salad and goat cheese.
