Description

Sonoma County, California

James Suckling 93 points!

Trinité Estate Amaino is a gorgeous Merlot blend from Sonoma County in California. Amaino is made by Trinité Estate, owned by Gonzague & Claire Lurton, who also own several properties in Bordeaux. A Bordeaux-style blend, Amaino captures the distinct character of Sonoma County terroir, where water is a precious resource. Amaino is located in Chalk Hill AVA, Sonoma, on the western slopes of the famed Mayacamas Mountains. The name “Amaino” means volcanic soil in native American.

Amaino is aged in French oak barrels for one year. The wine is concentrated with great ripeness and silky tannins, making it ideal for barbecues. Amaino is Merlot driven, fruit forward, meant for immediate pleasure: the 2016 blend is 63% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc.

“A juicy red with plenty of cherry and currant character and hints of orange peel and tar. Medium body with red-fruit flavors. Hints of asphalt and earth, too. From organically grown grapes. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and merlot. Drinking well now.”—James Suckling, 93 points!

Enjoy Trinité Estate Amaino over the next 7-8 years with grilled steak, pot roast, ratatouille, and aged cheeses.
